FinTech & InsurTech Digital Congress. Innovation for a better future.

On November 19 and 20, the FinTech & InsurTech Digital Congress took place at the Sheraton Warsaw Hotel. Over 600 participants listened to inspiring debates, use-cases, and presentations during the 2 days of the congress. The main topic of the autumn edition was the issue of broadly understood divers

The slogan “diversity” was visible throughout the two-day agenda. During the event, experts highlighted how to consciously use skills, work experience, cultural differences or gender in the digital world. The role of women in the financial and insurance industry and their contribution to the development of sectors were highlighted.

The event was officially opened by the Chairpeople of the Advisory Boards, Marcin Petrykowski, Managing Director S&P Global, Chairman of the FinTech Digital Congress Advisory Board, Małgorzata Szturmowicz, Banking & Fintech Industry Expert, Deputy Chairwoman of the FinTech Digital Congress Advisory Board and  Cezary Świerszcz, CEO, Bacca, Co-Chairman of the InsurTech Digital Congress Advisory Board. As part of the inaugural panel, the keynote speech was presented by Sonia Wedrychowicz-Horbatowska, Digital Transformation Practitioner and Thought Leader. Participants discussed women and their impact on the sector as the next super-power in the debate under the same title: Are women the next huge superpower in Fintech and Insurtech? Diversity – efficiency – innovation”.

On the second day of the event, two thematic tracks took place, FinTech, and InsurTech. Participants listened to many practical use cases presenting technological implementations in organizations or ideas for financing. The agenda of the 7th edition of the FinTech Digital Congress raised issues related to the future of the sector. Experts have been thinking about the concept of beyond banking, the development of challenger and neo-banks, the impact of big-tech on the ecosystem and the role they play and will play, in the global economy. It was also debated how to offer additional value instead of traditional financial services so that it would be a safe and trouble-free element in customer service. In the block devoted to the platform for financial services, the cooperation of retailers with the payment environment was also discussed at the congress for the first time. The fintech part ended with a very interesting discussion on fintech education.  

As part of the InsurTech Digital Congress track, participants listened to practical cases and examples of how to stimulate innovation in insurance, how to manage sales and customer service in the age of digitization, and what being digital really means. For the first time during the congress, the topic of agents’ work and how to improve this work thanks to new technologies was raised. There was also an analysis of the space of cooperation of insurers with insurtechs and topics devoted to telemedicine systems and new business models.
