Fitch Ratings labels Tauron Polska Energia with BBB- rating
Fitch Ratings affirmed Tauron Polska Energia’s long-term foreign- and local-currency ratings at BBB- and revised the outlook to stable. Its short-term ratings remain at F3, while its national long-term rating was maintained at A(pol). Fitch also affirmed the BBB- rating on Tauron’s EUR 500 mln senior unsecured eurobonds. The agency cited the resilience of the group’s business model, particularly its stable regulated electricity distribution operations.
Tauron’s net debt-to-FFO ratio remains within the 3.5x to 4.5x sensitivity range for the current rating. Investments in a 600 MW gas unit and 582 MW of battery storage also support the assessment. Fitch said further diversification away from coal and greater use of renewable energy could lead to a future upgrade.
