Foreign investors in Warsaw Stock Exchange reaches record levels
Foreign investors accounted for a record 73% of equity trading on the Warsaw Stock Exchange’s main market in H1 2026, generating nearly PLN 453 bln in turnover. Polish retail investors traded PLN 78 bln, maintaining a 13% share, while domestic institutions accounted for about PLN 87 bln, or 14%. The number of brokerage accounts in Poland rose above 2.91 mln, with more than 444,000 active accounts. Retail investors continued to dominate NewConnect, generating 84% of turnover, while institutional investors led the Catalyst bond market with a 68% share.
Institutions were also the largest group in futures trading. GPW said the figures confirm increasing specialization across Poland’s capital markets and sustained strong international interest in Polish equities.
