Foxconn bets on Poland for EV production facilities in Europe
Foxconn plans to establish a Polish factory as its European manufacturing hub, primarily serving EU customers, under its strategy of regionalizing production. Chairman Young Liu said the company favors a Build, Operate, Localize model emphasizing long-term industrial development and close cooperation with local partners. In Poland, Foxconn intends to work with ElectroMobility Poland to develop electric vehicle manufacturing. Liu cited Polish workers’ flexibility, dynamism and work ethic as reasons for choosing the country.
Foxconn executive Jun Seki compared the proposed partnership with its Mitsubishi project, although cooperation with EMP would focus more on jointly developing a new vehicle. Both sides said negotiations over the detailed agreement were nearing completion.
