Fuel prices, especially diesel, will continue upward price trend
Fuel prices in Poland are expected to rise further next week if oil and wholesale fuel prices remain near current levels. Diesel could climb to PLN 7.80–7.90 per liter, while regular gasoline may reach PLN 7.30. Prices have already risen sharply since early July due to a VAT increase and higher fuel costs on Europe’s ARA market. The surge follows renewed full-scale conflict in the Middle East and the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz. Brent crude rose about $8 per barrel during the week, while diesel and jet fuel increased by more than $24.
Continued escalation, including possible attacks near the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, could push Polish diesel prices close to PLN 8 per liter.
