Gas prices continue to rise in Europe
European natural gas prices rose to around EUR 60 per MWh, their highest level since March 23, marking a sixth consecutive session of gains. Dutch TTF benchmark contracts climbed as much as 5.7% to EUR 60.66 per MWh amid escalating hostilities between the United States and Iran. The conflict has sharply increased the risk of energy supply disruptions, with LNG shipments through the Strait of Hormuz reportedly almost halted. Analysts expect prices to remain supported by constrained supply and relatively low inventories.
EU gas storage facilities are currently 53.7% full, well below the five-year seasonal average of 69.3%, leaving Europe more vulnerable to further market volatility.
