GDDKiA sued by Mostostal Warszawa for payment of PLN 487 mln
Mostostal Warszawa has sued Generalna Dyrekcja Dróg Krajowych i Autostrad for PLN 487 million over unreimbursed cost increases on the S19 expressway project. The company argues that sharply rising material and execution costs were not adequately covered by contract indexation mechanisms. It also withdrew from another S19 contract worth over PLN 1 billion, citing delays and lack of cooperation from the authority, which disputes the claim. Due to these disputes, Mostostal faces capital needs of up to PLN 570 million and is seeking financing, possibly including a capital increase.
The conflict reflects broader industry tensions, with contractor claims against the state exceeding PLN 3 billion.
