GUS: 38.8 mln tourists used accommodation facilities in 2024

In 2024, 38.8 million tourists used accommodation facilities in Poland, a 7.2% increase year-over-year, according to Statistics Poland (GUS). A total of 97.6 million overnight stays were recorded, up 5.2%. Hotel facilities hosted 30.5 million guests, with hotels alone accounting for 26.3 million—4.2% more than in 2023. Among non-hotel accommodations, vacation resorts attracted 1.9 million visitors, while guest rooms saw a notable 49.3% increase to 1.4 million.
Foreign tourists made up 20.3% of all visitors (up from 19.5%), totaling 7.9 million. Most came from Germany (1.8 million), Ukraine, and the UK. The most popular regions were Małopolskie, Mazowieckie, and Zachodniopomorskie. Average occupancy rate dropped slightly to 40.1%.
