Imports of used cars fell by 8.9% y/y in April, lowest in 3 years
Used passenger car and van imports to Poland totaled 79,860 vehicles in April 2026, down 8.9% y/y, according to data from IBRM Samar. It was the lowest monthly result in three years and marked the seventh consecutive month of declining imports, confirming a broader downward trend that has continued almost uninterrupted since June 2025.
Germany remained by far the largest source of imported used vehicles, accounting for 52.2% of total imports. Among the top 20 source countries, only the United States and Spain recorded growth. The steepest declines came from Sweden and Lithuania. Meanwhile, imports from China surged by 1,410%, rising from 19 to 287 vehicles. Analysts said the increase was driven mainly by independent importers offering models not officially available on the Polish market.
