In March 2021, the total value of trading in shares on the WSE Main Market amounted to PLN 40.9 billion, i.e. 57.2 percent more than in the corresponding period a year earlier. The value of trading in shares on the order book increased by 39.5 percent y/y to the level of PLN 35.8 billion. The average daily value of trading in shares on the order book was PLN 1,556.5 million, 33.5 percent more than in the previous year. The value of the WIG index at the end of March was 58,081.50 points and was 39.5 percent higher than in the previous year.

In March, the NewConnect market saw an increase in the total value of trading in shares by 31.6 percent y/y to the level of PLN 837.7 million. The value of trading in shares on the order book on the NewConnect market increased by 30.8 percent y/y and amounted to PLN 831.0 million.

The total volume of trading in derivative instruments in March was 1.5 million units, which is 13.6 percent less than in the previous year. The volume of trading in index futures fell by 43.0 percent y/y to the level of 654,100 units, the volume of trading in stock futures fell by 11.4 percent y/y to 246,700 units, the volume of trading in currency futures increased by 107.4 percent y/y to 606,100 units, and the volume of trading in options decreased by 53.4 percent ​​y/y to 26,300 units.
