The value of Initial Public Offering (IPO) carried out on European stock exchanges in 2021 amounted to €75 billion – an increase of 269 percent compared to the same period last year (€20.3 billion). It is also the most active year on the IPO market in Europe – 422 debuts were recorded, compared to 135 in 2020. InPost's debut on Euronext in Amsterdam, with an offer of over €3.2 billion, turned out to be the largest IPO in Europe and the 5th in the world. The Warsaw Stock Exchange recorded the largest number of IPOs since 2013.

In 2021, there were 44 debuts on the Warsaw Stock Exchange, compared to 19 in the previous year. The total value of the IPOs on the WSE last year (jointly on the regulated market and NewConnect) amounted to PLN 9.31 billion (€2.05 billion), which means a decrease of 15 percent compared to 2020 (it is worth noting that last year's statistics dominated the Allegro.eu IPO worth PLN 10.6 billion).

"The past year was by far the best period of IPO activity on the Warsaw Stock Exchange in years. The largest number of IPOs on both markets in total since 2013, the largest number of IPOs on the main market since 2016, and, in our terms, a flood of large transactions. In 2021, the Warsaw Stock Exchange accepted 4 offers worth more than PLN 1 billion," Bartosz Margol, a partner in the PwC capital markets team, commented.
