Investment in environmental protection and water management amounted to PLN 18.1 bln
Poland’s investment in environmental protection and water management rose 22.5% y/y in 2025, according to Statistics Poland (GUS). Environmental protection spending reached PLN 18.1 bln, up from PLN 15.1 bln in 2024, while water management investment increased to PLN 4.8 bln from PLN 3.6 bln. Waste management recorded the largest increase, followed by wastewater treatment and water protection. Spending on wastewater and water protection totaled PLN 8.6 bln, while air and climate protection received PLN 5.4 bln.
Investments completed during the year included 93 wastewater treatment plants, 4,600 km of sewer networks, 3,900 km of water supply networks, seven reservoirs and nearly 40 km of new or modernized flood embankments.
