JSW reports billion-zloty first-half loss
Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa estimates net loss of PLN 1.0434 billion for the first half of 2026 and an EBITDA loss of PLN 236.5 million. Sales revenue totaled PLN 4.3438 billion, while the gross loss on sales reached PLN 261.9 million. PAP Biznes calculations indicate the group generated about PLN 2.1 million of positive EBITDA in the second quarter but still posted net loss near PLN 431.9 million.
The second-quarter EBITDA result was below the PLN 97.8 million consensus compiled by PAP Biznes, while the net loss was deeper than the PLN 275.8 million expected by the market. JSW produced 6.46 million tons of coal in the first half, including 5.54 million tons of coking coal, and 1.43 million tons of coke. The figures remain estimates and may change. JSW is scheduled to publish its detailed first-half report on September 29.
