Korona hotels builds thermal baths on the Zegrzem River above geothermal vents
A consortium of 13 banks is financing a major investment by the family-owned company Hotele Korona in Jachranka, near Zegrze Reservoir. The project, called Termy Jachranka, will include more than 500 hotel rooms, large conference facilities, a medical zone, and nearly 3,000 sq. m of outdoor pools supplied with medicinal geothermal water. After years of self-funded drilling, the company obtained a mining concession to extract 42°C geothermal water from a depth of 1,800 meters. Scheduled for completion in 2028, the complex aims to combine hotel, spa, and health-resort functions.
By leveraging geothermal resources and multi-generational family involvement, Hotele Korona hopes to revive Jachranka’s sanatorium tradition and potentially secure official health-resort status, significantly increasing the project’s long-term value.
