Maciej Berek steps down as PM’s right hand man
Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced that Maciej Berek is stepping down as minister responsible for overseeing the implementation of government policy and will move to other public duties. His responsibilities will be taken over by Joanna Knapińska, head of the Government Legislation Center and secretary of the Council of Ministers.
Tusk thanked Berek for his work, particularly his contribution to deregulation, describing him as a key member of his team. Berek had served as a minister and head of the Standing Committee of the Council of Ministers since December 2023 and became minister for government policy implementation in July 2025.
Knapińska has served as secretary of the Council of Ministers since December 2023 and as president of the Government Legislation Center since January 2024.
