NBP: China second in car sales in Poland after Germany
China became Poland’s second-largest supplier of new cars by value in the second quarter of 2026, overtaking the Czech Republic and trailing only Germany. Its share of Polish passenger-car imports more than doubled, rising from 5.3% a year earlier to 11.2%, while the value of car imports from China climbed nearly 130%. China’s share of Poland’s total imports also increased, reaching 15.8%, compared with 14.8% in the second quarter of 2025. The NBP said the value of imports from China is approaching Germany’s.
The gap narrowed to PLN 10.6 bln in the second quarter of 2026, from PLN 18.5 bln a year earlier.
