In Q3 2024, Poland’s imports from China increased 15.1% y/y, marking the first rise since Q4 2022, according to the National Bank of Poland (NBP). As a result, China’s share in Poland’s total imports grew from 13.8% in Q3 2023 to 15.8% in Q3 2024.
The highest import growth was seen in investment goods, consumer products, industrial supplies, and transportation equipment. China strengthened its position as Poland’s top supplier of these categories. The trade deficit with China widened to PLN 54.7 billion, up PLN 7.5 billion y/y.
Consumer goods imports, especially household appliances (AGD), furniture, and televisions, saw the strongest growth, rising 10.6% y/y overall. Durable goods imports increased 20% y/y, with AGD imports surging 53% y/y, making China’s share in Poland’s AGD imports 48%.
