New limits for hotels

"We were hoping for a full unfreezing in the summer vacations”, said Marcin Mączyński, secretary-general of the Polish Hotel Industry Chamber. In this way, he referred to Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki’s announcement of loosening restrictions and new limits on hotels and guesthouses.
From 26 June this year, as announced by the head of government, hotels and guesthouses will be able to provide 75 percent of rooms, while the current limit is 50 percent. He also noted that vaccinated people will not be included in the limits.
We received this information with surprise, as we had hoped for a full unfreezing of the hotel industry during the holiday season,” Mączyński pointed out. He recalled that this was the case last year, even though the number of COVID-19 infections recorded was higher than it is now.
The latest IGHP survey shows that in May, as in previous months, nearly 92% of hotels did not expect to achieve operating profit earlier than at the end of 2022. The percentage of hotels indicating a period later than 2022 remained above 60 percent.
