Registrations of electric passenger cars and plug-in hybrids in Poland rose by 57% y/y to 44,663 vehicles in January-May 2026, according to PSNM and PZPM. Fully electric car registrations increased by 30.5% to 17,109, while plug-in hybrids rose by 80.5% to 27,554. By the end of May, Poland had 281,878 electric passenger cars, including 138,255 BEVs and 143,623 PHEVs. The number of fully electric passenger and commercial vehicles exceeded 150,000 for the first time.
Charging infrastructure also expanded, with 12,897 public charging points, almost half of them fast DC chargers. Electric buses and motorcycles also continued to grow rapidly.
