Orlen seeks investor for parcel-delivery business
Orlen is seeking a strategic investor for its parcel-delivery business, Orlen Paczka, and Poland Post has submitted an offer to acquire it. The sale is not finalized, though the government views combining the companies’ logistics networks as a way to strengthen Poland’s domestic infrastructure. Orlen Paczka operates more than 15,000 pickup locations, including nearly 9,000 parcel lockers, and plans to expand its sorting facilities, courier fleet, and collection network. State Assets Minister Wojciech Balczun says the business needs continued investment to compete with InPost, Allegro, DHL, and DPD.
Since parcel delivery is not central to Orlen’s energy strategy, he considers selling to an investor able to fund its growth a rational move.
