Nearly two-thirds of Poles believe that financial knowledge is needed, but more than half of them are not aware of the fact that money loses its value due to inflation, reports Kapitalni.org citing the results of a financial knowledge test. The results of the test, which was carried out for the Kapitalni.org platform by Maison & Partners, are the weakest in the last three years.
“This year, Poles gave an average of 13.33 correct answers to 27 questions,” said Agnieszka Szczepanik from Wonga Polska, who is responsible for the development of the Kapitalni.org educational platform.
In this year’s test, fewer people correctly answered questions related to borrowing and getting out of debt. Over 50% of those taking part in the survey cannot find the best loan offer, and 61% do not know what the interest-free period is. Poles also do not know their rights: 55% of the respondents do not realize that in the event of a negative examination of a loan application they have the right to find out what the reason was.
62% of the respondents did not know that when planning a home budget it is best to write it for a one-year period so that expenses that require more planning can be included.
