Experts from Wakacje.pl took a closer look at bookings of trips for the period from April 1 to October 31 (i.e. the summer season of 2021 in travel agencies) made in all sales channels (online and a chain of showrooms). It turns out that Turkey enjoys the greatest interest. Almost every third tourist booked a holiday in this country from April to October. The country of the Crescent is more than 10 percentage points ahead of Greece, in third place – with a share of 14.61 percent, and thus twice smaller than Turkey – is Egypt. However, recent days show that Egypt has a chance to close this gap. The TOP 10 most booked destinations also include Tunisia, Spain, Bulgaria, Poland, Croatia, Cyprus, and Albania.
“Despite changes in travel, such as Covid-19 tests or seat limits, the demand for trips abroad is returning. The good news is that we can still travel to what we have seen in previous years and relax in a similar way – be it in large facilities with swimming pool complexes and all-inclusive, in smaller resorts, or actively – sightseeing. Popular tourist destinations, such as Turkey or Greece, already met the expectations of travelers last summer – both in terms of the possibility of a peaceful rest and the sanitary rules introduced – and this, in combination with the availability of the most popular hotels in the offer of travel agencies or prices comparable to previous years makes these places also very popular this year,” Klaudyna Fudala, PR Manager at Wakacje.pl, said.
The coronavirus epidemic did not change the standard of our holidays – holiday prices remain at the level of previous seasons, so we can and still want to relax as we did before – mostly all-inclusive and in 4-5-star hotels. PLN 7,344 is the average booking value for a week's stay in a foreign resort. We pay for holidays per person comparable to previous years. Depending on the direction, it is from PLN 2,100-2,800.
