The Civic Platform (PO) wants to hear explanations from Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki in connection with an article published on Monday in “Gazeta Wyborcza.” According to the daily, Morawiecki and his wife in 2002 bought 15 hectares of land in Wrocław from the Catholic Church for PLN 700,000. Later, an appraiser estimated that the property was worth almost PLN 4 million already in 1999. The authorities of Wrocław have planned investments on the land – an expressway is to run through the middle of the plot. Today, the site is valued at about PLN 70 million.
The matter was addressed on Monday by the Government Information Center, which assessed that the text of “Gazeta Wyborcza” violates the personal rights of Prime Minister Morawiecki and his wife.
