Polish online sales hit September record
Polish e-commerce recorded strong growth in September as the Base Index reached a record 188 points, according to sales data from 3,000 online stores. Sales rose 15.9 percent from a year earlier and 3.4 percent from August. The number of orders increased 15.1 percent annually, while their average value edged up 0.7 percent to PLN 199.90. Culture and entertainment was the fastest growing category again, supported by school and university shopping.
Cross-border sales grew 36.7 percent from September 2025, compared with 11.3 percent domestic growth, and represented 21.7 percent of retailers’ turnover. Analysts cautioned that the slight increase in average order value was below September inflation and did not prove that consumer spending patterns had changed. Retailers now face the operational test of November promotions and the Christmas shopping season, particularly when handling orders, payments and returns across multiple markets.
