In the second quarter of 2019, the Warsaw Stock Exchange recorded 6 IPOs against 10, which occurred in the corresponding period of the previous year. The only debut on the main market was the offer made by BoomBit  a producer and publisher of games for mobile operating systems. As part of the IPO, the company raised PLN 35.2 million and broke the series of two quarters in a row without a debut on the main floor of the WSE, according to the latest report “IPO Watch Europe” prepared by the consulting company PwC.
“The crisis on the domestic IPO market continues ... Over two years, we did not record debut on the WSE worth over PLN 100 million. The latest major offers were IPOs of Play Communications and GetBack in July 2017. It seems that the market has ‘frozen’ in anticipation for the first effects of the PPK implementation and considers it as the impulse that will restore activity to the level from a few years ago,” Bartosz Margol, the director in the capital markets team PwC, said.
