ROBYG's Premiere of Elektrovnia Garbary – Poznań’s new icon
ROBYG presents Elektrovnia Garbary – one of the most prestigious and unique developments in Poland, rising on a river peninsula on the grounds of a historic power and heating plant, offering views of the Old Town and Cytadela Park. A place that powered Poznań for decades will now become its symbolic new heart.

Elektrovnia Garbary is one of the most ambitious projects in ROBYG’s history. It is more than luxurious apartments, it is a vision that blends history with the future and gives back to Poznań a part of the city that will become its new icon – a place full of life, energy, and extraordinary style – emphasizes Oscar Kazanelson, Chairman of the ROBYG Supervisory Board.
Where history drives the future
On a small island in the heart of Poznań, surrounded by the Warta and Cybina rivers, lies the former Garbary Power Plant – a modernist complex from 1929 that powered the city for decades. Once part of the Poznań Fortress fortification system, this area blends industrial heritage with a unique atmosphere. Today, it is being transformed into a vibrant new development – Elektrovnia Garbary.

The multi-stage project includes the construction of 12 modern apartment buildings and the revitalization of 4 historic structures, which will be adapted for commercial use.
Premium-standard apartments
The first building will offer 228 apartments ranging from 26 to 141 m², with terraces of up to 120 m², designed to combine functionality, luxury, and prestige, drawing inspiration from the site’s history.

Elektrovnia Garbary is part of the prestigious ROBYG Grand Selection line, which includes developments of the highest construction standards, exceptional architecture, and carefully selected locations. A representative lobby finished with refined materials introduces a sense of exclusivity from the very entrance. Above-standard apartment heights provide more light and space. Residents will have access to premium amenities – waterside recreational areas, modern fitness zones, air‑conditioning preparations, electric sun blinds, and the intelligent ROBYG Smart House by Keemple system. Grand Selection projects combine luxury, aesthetics, and functionality, creating spaces for those seeking the highest quality of life – and Elektrovnia Garbary is their most distinctive example.
Heritage that inspires
The architectural concept blends the site’s industrial legacy with modern design. New buildings harmonize with the historic structures, highlighting their distinct identities. Common areas will feature elements from the former power plant’s equipment, and the former coal yard will become a meeting space for the residents of Poznań. Altogether, the project will create a cohesive, dynamic urban fabric that breathes history while embracing the present and meeting the expectations of contemporary urban living.
Infrastructure that reshapes the city
The ROBYG development within Elektrovnia Garbary is not just a real estate project – it is a genuine urban transformation. A new pedestrian and cycling footbridge will be built over the Warta River, connecting the Small Island with Cytadela Park and key walking and cycling routes. Panny Marii Street and Św. Wincentego Street will be expanded, with the latter becoming the main access road to the estate. This will be one of the largest privately funded infrastructure investments in Poznań’s history, worth approximately PLN 100 million.

A new chapter for the city
Elektrovnia Garbary will not only improve connectivity and open this part of the city to its residents, but also merge industrial heritage with luxurious contemporary architecture, creating a completely new quality of life in Poznań. Revitalized historic buildings and modern apartment houses will shape a prestigious residential and commercial district. As a result, Elektrovnia Garbary will become an integral part of the city – open, vibrant, and full of new possibilities – representing a truly unprecedented investment.
