Selvita has signed a contract with PORR for the general contractor for the construction of the Research and Development Centre for Laboratory Services in the Drug Discovery and Development Area in Krakow, the company said. The value of remuneration due to the contractor for the execution of the contract will amount to PLN 86.9 million net. The investment is planned to be completed at the turn of 2022/23.

“For the implementation of the investment Selvita secured financing in the form of a grant in the amount of PLN 41.2 million and a bank loan in the amount of PLN 65 million. The construction is planned to be completed at the turn of 2022/23. The research center will be constructed on a plot purchased by Selvita and located in Podole Street in Krakow, less than 700 metres from the company’s current headquarters. The heart of the new Selvita facility will be a complex of laboratories in the fields of medicinal chemistry, biochemistry, molecular and cell biology, ADME/DMPK, in vivo pharmacology and analytics, among others. In the future, the facility will be able to provide workspace for more than 250 people,” - the announcement reads.

As Selvita board member Dariusz Kurdas emphasized, the implementation of this investment will allow the company not only to increase the scale of its operations and broaden its offer but also to increase its competitiveness by introducing new technologies and services in the area of drug discovery and development to its portfolio.
