Students going to work for holidays, companies looking for helping hands
Nearly half of Polish students plan to take temporary jobs this summer, according to the latest Tikrow Temporary Work Index. Overall, 19% of Poles want to seek casual work, up 1 pp from the previous quarter, while the figure rises to 45% among students, up 11 pp. At the same time, 65% of companies in retail, manufacturing and logistics plan to hire temporary workers in Q3 2026, despite a 5 pp quarterly decline. Manufacturing reports the strongest demand, at 70%.
Firms cite rising employment costs, seasonal order increases and difficulties finding manual workers. For employees, casual work is increasingly a way to cover extra expenses and manage rising living costs.
