Swedish heat pump producer to invest in Wrocław

Swedish holding company Vargas' subsidiary, Aira, plans to invest hundreds of millions of euros in the development of a heat pump factory in Wrocław, Poland. The factory, located in the decommissioned Volvo Buses plant, is expected to start operations in the new year and could employ several hundred people. Aira aims to produce energy-efficient heat pumps and implement related technologies for residential buildings.
The company's executives highlighted the growing demand for heat pumps in Europe, estimating that around 10 million units would be installed by 2030, with a market value of €100 billion. Aira is already active in five countries and plans to expand its European workforce to 10,000 employees by 2030, including several hundred in Wrocław.
