One of the most recognizable retail buildings in central Szczecin, known as “Odzieżowiec,” has been sold for a price close to PLN 18 million, according to Gazeta.pl. The transaction was confirmed by the court-appointed receiver, who noted that the final price was near the asking level, though the exact amount was not disclosed. The buyer is reported to be the owner of a supermarket chain, suggesting continued involvement in retail activity. The historic building on Niepodległości Avenue has long been associated with shopping, dating back to the late 19th century and the pre-war Horst brothers’ department store.

While the new owner’s plans have not yet been revealed, the purchase may lead to modernization and a renewed commercial function after years of complex ownership disputes and bankruptcy proceedings.
