Tatra Mountains under siege by tourists in Krupówki and Morskie Oko
The Tatra region is seeing heavy tourist traffic during the June long weekend, with crowded Krupówki, full parking near the Morskie Oko trail, and lines at major attractions. Although average accommodation occupancy is around 70%, visitor numbers are high, driven mainly by Polish tourists, who make up about 90% of guests. Poor weather on Thursday initially discouraged trips, but conditions improved from Friday, bringing crowds to Zakopane, mountain trails, restaurants, thermal baths, and the Kasprowy Wierch cable car. Many visitors chose short one- or two-day stays.
Accommodation prices fell after weak weather forecasts, with some properties cutting rates by about 10%. The median price for a double room with breakfast was around PLN 520.
