Tauron profit falls despite revenue growth
Tauron Polska Energia reported PLN 586 million in consolidated net profit attributable to shareholders for the second quarter of 2026, down from PLN 923 million a year earlier. Operating profit reached PLN 915 million, compared with PLN 1.24 billion in the corresponding period of 2025. Quarterly consolidated sales revenue increased to PLN 7.69 billion from PLN 7.35 billion, according to results published by the utility.
Chief executive Grzegorz Lot said the group generated PLN 3.7 billion of EBITDA, describing the performance as evidence of resilience in Tauron’s business model. The company also paid shareholders a total dividend of PLN 350 million, its first distribution in several years. Tauron is one of Poland’s largest energy groups, with operations spanning electricity generation, distribution and sales. The lower quarterly profit comes as the company continues investment across its energy infrastructure and transformation program.
