Temperature in the workplace regulations taking effect 1 Jan 27

Poland may introduce maximum workplace temperature limits from January 1, 2027, under proposed health and safety changes prepared by the Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Policy. Current rules set only minimum temperatures: 14°C for heavier physical work and 18°C for light physical or office work. The draft would link heat limits to the employee’s metabolic workload. For low and moderate work, indoor temperatures could not exceed 28°C; for heavier work, the limits would be 25°C and 22°C. If limits are exceeded, employers would need technical or organizational measures to reduce heat exposure.

No indoor work would be allowed above 35°C, while heavy outdoor work would stop above 32°C, except for essential services.
