Renewable energy sources in Poland currently provide 10 gigawatts of power, and the fastest growing renewable energy sector is solar energy, the climate ministry announced in a press release.
“The capacity of renewable energy sources in Poland has already exceeded 10 gigawatts. This is equal to the installed capacity in traditional power plants in Bełchatów, Turów and Opole together,” said Ireneusz Zyska, deputy climate minister and government plenipotentiary for renewable energy sources.
Zyska added that the dynamics of growth of new solar installations make the solar energy sector currently the fastest growing renewable energy sector in Poland. “Since December 2015, the capacity of solar installations has increased by over 1600 percent,” he claimed.
