During the Business Insider Trends Festival, several dozen lectures,
debates, workshops and discussion panels were divided into four thematic stages
- Business 4.0, Global Economy, Life
Science and Media and Marketing. During
the event, special thematic blocks were also organized - China Session (within the Global Economy scene), Leadership Session (Life Science
scene), PropTech and Women Power.
- Business Insider Trends Festival is more than just a conference. It
is a place of exchanging inspirations and searching for creative solutions. The
main idea behind this year's event was sustainable economic development. Today's companies should act according to
social needs and the future of our planet in mind. I am glad that we managed to
inspire 2.5 thousand managers to think not only about profits but also from the
point of view of social needs. - said Jovan Protic, COO, Member of the
Management Board, Ringier Axel Springer Polska.
Among the speakers at the conference were Hannes Schmid, world-famous
photographer and charity founder, Smiling Gecko, Henry Blodget, founder
of Business Insider, Marieme Jamme, businesswoman and social activist,
creator of iamtheCODE, Haiwen Chen of Alibaba Group, Zev Siegl,
co-founder of Starbucks, Pascal Kaufmann, founder of Starmind or Mark T.
Hofmann, criminologist and business psychologist.
On the first day of the conference, Henry Blodget's speech was a
strong accent of the entire conference. The founder of Business Insider says
that today's companies, faced with the problems and challenges of today's
world, must take a step backwards - stop focusing only on creating profit for
their shareholders to take two steps forward - start creating value for the
general public - shareholders, employees, customers and their environment.
The presentation by Hannes Schmid,
world-famous photographer and creator of the Smiling Gecko charity, was also very moving for the audience.
Schmid showed, with the example of Smiling
Gecko in Cambodia, that the fight against extreme poverty and other social
issues requires extraordinary determination, the involvement of many parties,
and that these are very complex processes, where simple solutions are often
simply ineffective.
There was also a great interest in the China Session thematic block, during which representatives of the
largest businesses in China talked about the Chinese market, its specifics, the
transformation from the world's largest follower to an increasingly important
innovator, as well as bringing their brands closer and sharing their
experiences gathered in China and Europe.
The next successful presentation was a presentation by Zev Siegl, co-founder of Starbucks. On
the example of his own company's history and trends governing the café market
over the years, he showed that the road to success is full of failures. Siegl
also pointed out that many companies, when creating their products or services,
forget about the most important thing - the customer, his or her psychology and
needs.
- The second edition of Business
Insider Trends Festival is behind us, but we are already thinking about the
next one. This is an exciting project and seeing how popular it is among the
leaders of the media, marketing, technology and broadly understood business, we
want to develop it even more, so that it is at an even higher level, and so
that Poland is visited by such incredible guests as this year and last year. We
want the Business Insider Trends Festival to be a platform for the exchange of
knowledge, the latest information, experiences and emotions - summed up
Protic.
The next edition of Business Insider Trends Festival will be held on
14-15 October 2020.
