Third Ronald McDonald House in Poland opens in Warsaw
A third Ronald McDonald House in Poland opened on May 26, 2026, at the Children’s Memorial Health Institute (IPCZD) in Warsaw. The single-story, 1,700 sqm facility offers 20 family rooms, a kitchen, laundry room, and garden, allowing families of children undergoing long-term treatment to stay close to the hospital free of charge for weeks or even months. Operated by the Ronald McDonald House Charities Poland foundation, the project is based on the concept of family-centered care and aims to ensure that parents do not have to choose between supporting their child and maintaining family life.
The Warsaw facility is the third such house in Poland, following locations in Kraków and at the University Clinical Center of the Medical University of Warsaw. Over the past decade, the existing houses have hosted more than 1,700 families for a combined 150,000+ nights. Built using sustainable cross-laminated timber (CLT), the new facility forms part of the foundation’s broader support network, which also includes family rooms in hospitals, bedside accommodation programs for parents, and a mobile ultrasound clinic providing free preventive screenings for children.
