Total value of trading on the WSE's main market higher by nearly 10% than a year ago

In July 2022, the total value of trading in shares on the WSE's Main Market amounted to PLN 20.9 billion, up 9.7 percent from the same period a year earlier, the WSE said in a Tuesday announcement.
"The value of trading in shares on the order book increased by 12.3 percent y/y to PLN 20.8 billion. The average daily value of trading in shares under the order book amounted to PLN 990.8 million, 17.6 percent more than a year earlier," WSE added.
Data presented by the WSE also shows that the NewConnect market saw a 43.9 percent y/y decline in the total value of share trading in July, to PLN 152.7 million. The value of trading in shares under the order book on the NewConnect market fell 45 percent y/y to PLN 147.4 million.
The exchange calculated that the total volume of derivatives trading in July was 993,800, 76.1 percent higher than a year earlier. The volume of trading in index contracts increased 123.4 percent y/y to 654,000 units, the volume of trading in stock contracts increased 1.1 percent y/y to 117,200 units, and the volume of trading in currency contracts increased 43.5 percent y/y to 208,200 units. At the same time, in July, the value of trading in structured products declined by 21.6 percent y/y to PLN 182.3 million, and trading in ETFs increased by 36.9 percent y/y to PLN 56.5 million.
