• Trasti has raised €21 million from the EBRD and Zavarovalnica Triglav for further growth.
  • This is the largest Polish InsurTech investment in the Central Europe region.
  • Trasti already serves 700 thousand customers and has collected PLN 620 million in gross premiums in four years of operation.
  • The funds will enable the development of digital solutions, expansion of the offer and preparations for foreign expansion.

HPI GMA S.A., the owner of the Trasti brand, has signed an investment agreement
with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and Slovenian-
based Triglav Group, one of the largest insurance and financial group in South-East
Europe, who intend to allocate €21 million for the further dynamic development of
Trasti, one of the most interesting Polish InsurTechs.

This is the largest investment in the InsurTech sector in the Central European region
to date. Both institutions will take minority stakes in the company, supporting its
ambitious plans for the future.

Trasti, awarded the title of the Best Digital Insurer in 2024, has already gained the
trust of 700 thousand customers since its launch, reaching PLN 620 million in gross
written premium and paying out over 36 thousand claims during this time.

The new financing will allow Trasti to further develop digital solutions in the area of
claims handling and technologies supporting sales and operational processes.
Trasti also plans to expand its product offering beyond the lines of communication,
responding to the growing needs of the market.

In the spirit of its slogan "Simply fair", Trasti consistently builds an offer that is simple,
clear and understandable – without small print and unclear provisions.

The funds from the investment will also enable the start of preparations for foreign
expansion. The company is considering applying for its own insurance license in the
future.

Trasti intends to continue to create trends in insurance innovation and technology
with a focus on future-ready solutions designed for maximum convenience for
customers and partners. The company consistently develops in a sustainable and
responsible manner, without participating in price wars, but with full respect for
market competition.

Since its inception, Trasti has been working with Triglav Group to create local
products in a cross-border model. The EBRD's investment is in line with the bank's
strategy to support the digital transformation of the financial services sector in the
region.

"Trasti is a modern, future-ready, digital insurer that, thanks to the technology
and know-how of its team, is able to create local products based on universal
processes – real improvements to the customer experience. The investment of
the EBRD and Triglav Group is not only financial support for us, but also proof that
our model works and works. We will use the funds raised for further bold
innovations and questioning the usual patterns. Every day we ask ourselves not
only if we can do something differently, but if we can do it completely anew," Janusz Wojtas, CEO of Trasti.

"Our strategic ambitions are focused on expanding beyond our existing markets
and strengthening our international visibility. The promising Polish market offers
a good opportunity for this, as we are working with our ambitious partner, Trasti,
which successfully combines a modern, technology-driven approach with an in-
depth understanding of the local market. Through this equity investment,
together with the EBRD, we are supporting its further growth and strengthening
our partnership," Andrej Slapar, President of the Management Board
of Zavarovalnica Triglav.

"Trasti is an excellent example of a company with high potential and
technological orientation, in which we want to invest in Poland. We are delighted
to have brought in an experienced international investor like Triglav Group with
this transaction and are confident that our partnership will allow Trasti to mature
into a market leader," Tamas Nagy - EBRD Director for Central Europe.

"As one of the fastest-growing insurance brokers in Poland, Trasti is perfectly
positioned to further drive innovation, increase competition and improve the
quality of service in the insurance brokerage segment in Poland. We are proud to
support its further development," Andreea Moraru - EBRD Regional Director for
Central and South-Eastern Europe.
