In the first quarter of 2019, the number of foreigners with residence permits in Poland increased by 11,000, to a total of 383,000, the Office for Foreigners (UDSC) has revealed. The number of Ukrainians increased the most, by almost 7,600. The vast majority of foreigners in Poland hold work-related residence permits, the UDSC said. On January 1, 2019, the number of valid residence permits stood at 372,000, compared to 325,000 a year earlier. The UDSC reports that the most common purpose of foreigners' stay in Poland is their willingness to work – so far this year, this reason has been mentioned in almost 72 percent of applications.
