UOKiK imposes fines of PLN 90g mln on pharmaceutical wholesalers
Poland’s competition watchdog, UOKiK, fined Neuca, Farmacol-Logistyka, Farmacol, and Świat Zdrowia a combined PLN 905 million for illegally sharing sensitive pricing and commercial information. According to the regulator, the arrangement restricted competition for more than a decade, worsening terms for pharmacies and raising patients’ costs. Neuca received the largest fine, PLN 499 million, followed by Farmacol-Logistyka at PLN 400.5 million.
Polska Grupa Farmaceutyczna avoided a fine under a leniency program after reporting the practice and cooperating with investigators. The three main wholesale groups together held over 70% of the market in 2015–2022. The European Commission endorsed the decision, which remains subject to appeal.
