Ursynów mall plans scaled back to expansion of existing center
Plans for a major shopping mall in Warsaw’s Ursynów district have been shelved in favor of expanding and modernizing the existing CH Ursynów, according to local outlet haloursynow.pl. The original 2018 concept envisioned substantially more retail space, new public areas, and a redesigned Filipiny Płaskowickiej Street. The pandemic, rising construction costs, planning delays, and changes in the investor’s strategy prevented implementation. The revised approach would add retail space and upgrade infrastructure without major changes to the road network.
The proposed new street will not proceed. The shift reflects investors’ growing preference for upgrading existing properties and developing retail parks over building large malls from scratch.
