The Pentagon has sent to Congress a list of investments that may be affected by the decision of President Donald Trump to introduce a state of emergency on the Mexican border and to use the military budget to build a wall there. As Congress did not grant the funds requested by the president to build the wall, Trump introduced a state of emergency which allows his administration to use, if necessary, money from the military infrastructure budget.
There are several hundred items on the 20-page list, mostly in the US, with a total value of $12.9 billion. For the most part, these items are not crucial from the military point of view. When it comes to Poland, the list includes five investments under the European Deterrence Initiative (EDI) with a total value of $144.4 million.
