Used clothing market in Poland is expanding on average 34% annually

Poland’s second-hand clothing market has surged, growing 34% annually over the past six years, driven mainly by online platforms like Vinted, OLX, and Allegro Lokalnie, according to OC&C Strategy Consultants. By 2029, one in three clothing items purchased in Poland is expected to be second-hand, with the online resale market surpassing EUR 3 bln. Popular among 62% of Poles aged 26–45 and 54% of those aged 18–25, second-hand shopping is fueled by affordability, uniqueness, and rising ecological awareness.
Growth is faster than in Western Europe, where the new clothing market has stagnated since 2019. For apparel brands, OC&C highlights three strategies: defending new clothing, diversifying services (rental, repair, styling), or entering resale via proprietary or partner platforms.
