Warsaw tops GUS tourist attractiveness ranking
A Tourism Valuation Index (WaT) has been developed for each county and city with county rights in Poland. This index considers various partial and sectoral measures, incorporating cultural, environmental, and tourism infrastructure components (stimulants), as well as environmental pollution and crime (dismal factors) that affect tourism values.
The analysis reveals that Warsaw leads in tourism values with a WaT score of 63.5, followed by Nowy Sącz County with a WaT value of 57.5. Krakow, Kłodzko County, and Nowy Targ County hold the next positions with similar scores ranging from 51 to 54. The Central Statistical Office (GUS) states that cultural values dominate in Warsaw and Krakow, while environmental values play a significant role in Nowy Sącz, Kłodzko, and Nowy Targ counties.
