According to data from the Federation of European Stock Exchanges (FESE), the Warsaw Stock Exchange (WSE) recorded the highest percentage increase in equity turnover in 2020 – by 56.1 percent compared to 2019. The WSE was also ranked second in the FESE ranking in terms of changes in capitalization of domestic companies (in local currency) and was also ranked second and third in terms of portfolio turnover at the end of 2020 and the value of IPOs last year.

In 2020, the second-largest European debut took place on the WSE – Allegro.eu.

The phenomenon of the WSE has been noticed not only in Europe but also outside of it. In recent weeks, the text by President Marek Dietl devoted to the growth potential of our region has been reprinted in several press and internet titles around the world, incl. in France, Cyprus, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Qatar.

"The WSE, as one of the 25 most developed markets in the world, should play a major role in promoting and supporting the development of our region," Marek Dietl states in the text.

The article by the president of the WSE also reads that: “High valuation, the presence of foreign technology funds among investors and the continued liquidity in stock trading only confirm that the WSE is a fully-developed market. The Warsaw Stock Exchange has one more advantage. It offers access to a wide, diversified investor capital at costs much lower than those that would be incurred when making a debut on large foreign stock markets ”.
