Last day police officers throughout the country inspected 115,000 persons subjected to forced quarantine. In over 400 cases, irregularities qualifying for punishment were found, as a spokesman of Police Headquarters informed.

He added that at present the police occasionally reveal cases of gathering people in larger groups.

The police also received about 200 requests for help in buying food, taking the garbage out of the house, and sending parcels.

Quarantine is imposed on healthy persons who have been in contact with infected persons or suspected of coronavirus infection. Its duration is 14 days.

On Friday, in connection with the introduction of the state of the epidemic, the government increased the penalties for non-compliance with the quarantine rules from PLN 5,000 to 30,000. A mechanism to track if a person is at home has also been introduced.
