Bank Pekao and RBI sign agreement to support customers developing activity in Europe
Bank Pekao and Raiffeisen Bank International (RBI) signed a cooperation agreement to support clients expanding in European markets. Initially, it covers the Czech Republic, Romania and Austria, with more countries to follow. Pekao is also in talks with a German bank about a similar partnership. The arrangement works both ways: Pekao will serve RBI clients from those three countries that operate in, or plan to enter, Poland. A dedicated International Office will help clients communicate with the partner bank, manage liquidity and conduct international transactions more predictably.
The model follows a "capital light" concept, relying on partnerships rather than costly foreign infrastructure, so it can scale quickly. Pekao's Robert Sochacki said it gives clients access to local expertise and dedicated support.
