Banks and SKOKs granted 617,600 consumer loans in the total amount of PLN 7.78 billion in May 2019, the Credit Information Bureau (BIK) reported. This is a 1.9 percent decrease in terms of numbers and an increase of 8.9 percent in value terms, compared to May 2018.
In the first five months of 2019, increase in the number of consumer loans granted concerned only medium- and large-value loans, the highest positive growth rate related to large-value loans above PLN 20,000 (9.4 percent) in numerical terms. 35 percent of consumer loans granted are medium-value loans (PLN 7-20,000) and large-value loans (over PLN 20,000). However, in value terms, they already account for 86.6 percent of all consumer loans granted.
