Banks tightening rules for withdrawal
Euronet Polska has reduced the maximum single BLIK cash withdrawal at its ATMs and deposit machines from PLN 800 to PLN 200. The operator says rising transaction and network-maintenance costs make larger BLIK withdrawals financially unsustainable, while emphasizing that it still charges no direct withdrawal fee. BLIK operator Polski Standard Płatności criticized the decision, warning that it reduces convenience and may require customers to perform several transactions.
Other banks and ATM operators continue to offer higher limits. The dispute comes as BLIK use reaches record levels, with 2.4 bln transactions worth more than PLN 347.3 bln completed in 2024. The change has also intensified debate over declining cash use and tighter payment limits in Europe.
