Barrier between Ukraine and Poland to be built for PLN 450 mln
Poland plans to build a modern electronic barrier along the border with Ukraine to strengthen security and counter illegal migration. The system, similar to those on borders with Belarus and Russia, will cost around PLN 450 million and be implemented under the supervision of the Nadbużański Border Guard unit.
The project includes advanced monitoring technologies such as underground seismic sensors, fiber-optic data transmission, and poles equipped with day and thermal cameras for 24/7 surveillance. Data will be analyzed in real time to enable rapid response to threats.
Funding is expected partly from EU sources, though challenges remain. The investment is seen as a strategic, preventive measure amid ongoing regional instability and security risks.
